Una reinterpretazione pop e ironica di materiali e stilemi classici.
La porcellana di Capodimonte, storica manifattura italiana che da secoli arreda trasversalmente le abitazioni delle più diverse classi sociali, è scelta da Marcantonio per trasformare oggetti inquietanti che popolano il nostro immaginario ‐ oggetti degni dei migliori film horror come la sega, la motosega e l'accetta – in candelabri di porcellana bianca ingentiliti da fiori delicati.
Le figurine bucoliche tanto care alle nonne lasciano il posto ad accessori noir con un retrogusto provocatorio e divertente..ma per chi non ama le provocazioni, sotto forma di fiore singolo i Flower Attitude sono anche leggiadri magneti.
“I fiori in ceramica sui mobili dei nostri nonni, se non dei nostri genitori …erano un classico! C’era chi li collezionava o chi semplicemente li aveva ricevuti in regalo.
Quando Stefano (ndr. Seletti) mi ha chiesto di pensare a qualcosa con quei fiori, il mio pensiero è subito andato alla mensola del camino a casa di mia mamma dove ne tiene una decina; ai momenti in cui, da piccolo, li tenevo in mano e li guardavo per capire come erano realizzati.
Ogni petalo è modellato a mano spingendo la ceramica contro il palmo e formandolo con le dita a seconda del fiore che si vuole ottenere.
L’idea per questa collezione era quella di non stravolgere l’identità di quei fiori ma esaltarla creando uno spiazzamento, un contrasto ironico.
Così queste composizioni con oggetti pericolosi, violenti, creano un paradosso in cui sono i fiori a fare da protagonista, a sdrammatizzare.
Questa è la Flower Attitude. I fiori rendono tutto più bello.
Oltre a queste composizioni‐candelabro abbiamo pensato anche ai magneti, vera essenza di Flower Attitude. Potrete metterli nei posti più assurdi e fare fiorire le cose più impensabili: estintori, vecchie caldaie, gazebo, orrendi mobili da ufficio, scale, infissi, ringhiere, moto da cross abbandonate in giardino, carri‐armati, tubi arrugginiti, ecc.
Create un forte contrasto, più vecchio e decadente sarà l’oggetto e più interessante sarà il risultato. Garantito!”

The Capodimonte porcelain, historical Italian manufacture that across the centuries has decorated the homes of different social classes, is chosen by Marcantonio to transform disturbing objects that populate our imagination ‐ objects worthy of the best horror films like the saw, the electric saw and the axe ‐ in white porcelain candlesticks softened by delicate flowers.
The bucolic figures so dear to grandmothers give way to noir accessories with a provocative and funny aftertaste..but for those who do not like the provocation, in the form of the single flower the Flower Attitude are also graceful magnets.
“The ceramic flowers on the furniture of our grandparents, if not our parents, were a classic!
There are those who collected them, or those who simply had received them as a gift.
When Stefano (ed. Seletti) asked me to think of something with these flowers, my thoughts immediately went to the mantel in my mom’s house where she keeps a dozen of them; the times when, as a child, I kept them in my hand and I looked at them to understand how they were made.
Each petal is shaped by hand pushing the ceramic against the palms and forming with the fingers a second flower. The idea for this collection was not to distort the identity of those flowers but enhance it by creating a displacement, an ironic contrast. Thus, these compositions with dangerous and violent objects create a paradox in which the flowers are protagonists to play down.
This is the Flower Attitude. Flowers make everything more beautiful.
In addition to these compositions, we thought also about magnets, the true essence of Flower Attitude. You can put them in the most absurd places and make flourish the most unthinkable things; fire extinguishers, old boilers, hideous office furniture, stairs, windows, railings, dirt bikes abandoned in the garden, rusty pipes, etc. Creating a strong contrast, the older and the more decadent the object is, the more interesting the result will be. Guaranteed!”
